Lowden S-35 Lutz Spruce Top Bog Oak Back and Sides

This guitar is built from some of the rarest tone woods available. The Bog Oak used for the back and sides are carbon dated to over 5300 years old. It was found in the marsh lands of France where it was preserved to be later made into the gorgeous instrument you see here. The figuring on the back has a gorgeous pattern hidden under the dark hues left from the millennium of aging. The Lutz top was chosen as it was of our favorite tone woods due to its lush overtones and extremely sensitive nature. Paired with the Bog Oak there is an unmistakable liveliness to this instrument. The oak gives a fantastic bush and clarity while the lutz fills the body with a richness that is impossible to put down.
This instrument is built entirely by hand in Northern Ireland by a team of some of the most skilled craftspeople in the world. The neck is a 5-piece Mahogany design that provides great strength and tonal characteristics. The multi levels of bindings and purfling are topped off by a gorgeous level of flamed maple binding.
Every aspect of this handmade piece is breathtaking and we hope that you take a good long look at what is a true piece of history and art all in the shape of a guitar.
