A true and amazing bird has landed at the shop in the form of this amazing Gibson Custom Shop R0 Les Paul. The finish is perfect, the feel is amazing, and the tone is to die for. This piece was hand selected to become part of our collection and we absolutely love her. The neck is nice "C" that is a great representation of an early 1960's Les Paul. If you are looking for a chunky baseball bat of a neck, this is not the guitar for you. There is a slim taper as she rises the fretboard toward the 12th fret. It is very easy to wrap your hand around and get the thumb in play.
Tonally there is a clarity to the notes on this Les Paul. There is a nice bit of treble to counter the ever present bass of the custom buckers. The neck pickup has a "strat" like tone when you pull back on the volume a bit at a clean setting. Then she blooms and yells as you turn on the overdrive and push the volume. The bridge is classic Les Paul. The snarl is there and the treble and mid range push is all good to go.
Visually she is a clean and conservative burst with a sleek wood grain running up and down toward the neck and bridge. As you get closer you can see the grain start to peak out and hint at the trouble she's waiting to cause.
