When you say Jazzmaster and then you also say Shell Pink...you have our attention! This guitar from the Fender Custom Shop is wowing, inspiring, and just downright amazing to all of usher at the Casino.
Let me jump right to the engine here, the pickups. These handwound pickups make this piece. Let me say that once again...the pickups make this piece! Now that is not saying she is not gorgeous. That is not saying the '65 Strat shaped neck isn't the most smooth playing JM neck we have played in years but again...to the pickups. These hand wounds capture that classic JM tone but give us the layer of warmth that is often so lacking in a Jazzmaster. There is a bit of warmth dripped down into both of these to where you will find yourself wanting to play the bridge pup on this jazzmaster.
Now we can discuss the finish a bit but that should be rather clear...if you like shell pink and wanted a jazz master, this one is about as perfect as she gets. In person you can see the gorgeous checking coming through the hyper thin finish. The color is rich and "old" feeling in first viewing. The longer you stare and play the more depth you see in her as well.
And maybe a small part to some but what we consider a game changer...the RSD bridge makes this in immensely more playable, tunable, and enjoyable piece to love and live with. Everything about this piece makes you want to pick her up and play until the hours of sunlight are no more!
