We saw this transition era 1959 Fener Custom Shop at an exclusive Summer event and fell in love immediately. The time when Fender transitioned to the Rosewood Neck is a remarkable moment in Fender history. We feel it pairs the best of the 50's era strats with what was to become the iconic 60's Fender! The NOS Laquer finish really lets the Alder shine through on the hand done 3 color sunburst finish. The tone is remarkable warm and spanky...really the best of what a Fender can do! If you want that Buddy Holly sound, you've got it. If you want a roaring 60's Strat sound, its there.
This guitar really does have it all. The neck is large enough to be noticed without being cumbersome and the tone that we feel this neck imbues in the instrument is fantastic, full, and fat! The warm compression from the neck pickup is spectacular and she really wants to be pushed a bit as you play her.
We think there may only be three of these in existence and are thrilled to be able to get our hands on one!
Without a doubt, one of our favorite pieces in quite awhile!
