We're not even sure how to describe this Telecaster. Well we knew it was gorgeous at first glance. And we knew it was light at first hold. Then we we played her is where the confusion starts. Our first demo on her we said "This is a great rock n roll tele!" Our second demo fella said "Wow, what a great Country tele!" So we put her in the hands of a third player and she said "This would be my ultimate songwriting guitar!" So there you have it, hopefully as confused as we are. This tele really does it all. It has a great "woody"tone that delivers a nice thwack on the neck pickup when played aggressively. When you play her softly there is a great musicality tonal warmth and deepness in the neck. It has a bit of that strat tonal qualities with all the best of the tele neck magic put in there on top! The bridge pickup cuts and honks as you want a tele too. It captures that sound of early country recordings and makes you want to play Folsom Prison Blues almost immediately. The two together are a smooth combination that has an outrageous compression!
The neck is a nice and chunky 54' "U." The shoulders are there and the grip is fantastic. If you are looking for a larger neck tele without being prohibitively large this is a winner! The relic is subtle and smooth on all of the surfaces. The grain is very visible and the ash is gorgeous underneath the very thin finish. The finish on the neck is pulled slightly and has a great smooth feel. This tele begs to be played and begs to be played hard.
