The tonal properties of this guitar are warm and lush with plenty of headroom. We were not expecting the power in this guitar due to the Lutz top but it really projects and handles an aggressive strum brilliantly. The compression really does not come where we thought it would. We attribute that to of course the high performance bracing and the Grand Symphony body size. What surprised us most however was how well this guitar handles finger style playing. The way Taylor designs their Grand Symphony instruments allow for the top to vibrate more with less effort on their larger style instruments. We knew we wanted this particular design in "X" bracing as well as we felt that it would be able to create that classic Taylor overtone series that everyone here at the shop loves!
This is a rare chance to own a piece of Taylor craftsmanship that is a one-of-a-kind example of what one of the best builders in the world can do.
